Podcasting is emerging into the mainstream with the support of it within iTunes. If you haven't been listening to podcasts you should definitely check out some either through iTunes (you need the latest version to get podcasts through iTunes) or Odeo. There is a four-part podcast that goes behind the scenes of Spike Lee's newest film, Inside Man, and it's filled with lots of insight and information about filmmaking and passion.

I was going through my photo archives and I realized that there are a bunch of stills from productions that I hadn't uploaded yet. I uploaded photos from the preproduction and production of "Waiting for a Friend" from the Spring Term.

Video Blogging for Community Development

There is a great new article by Andy Carvin on Global Voices Online about Video Blogging for Community Development. It describes a project at MLK Elementary School in Atlantic City where a workshop is serving as a springboard for integrating video blogging into the curriculum at the school. A very neat project and it will be interesting to see what comes out of this.

IM as Way to Find Work

Wired News has an interesting article, Never IM in This Town Again!, which is about how more people are using instant messaging software to find work. In the away messages of film industry workers, they will have more than just their status, they'll let their buddies (and prospective employers) know that they'll be available for work soon. It's a neat use of technology that shows how the industry is changing.

The NY Times has a nice article on the future of 3-D television and movies. It's some cool sounding stuff to look forward to.

The Flux

Need a place to show your indie film online? The Flux seeks to bridge the gap between viewers and student and indie filmmakers. they show work online (and the filmmakers retains their rights) and also have a good and growing collection of resources.

Nokia Shorts 2005

Telling a story in 15 seconds is quite a challenge, but Nokia Shorts 2005 sets out to find the best 15 second shorts. It's only open for filmmakers from the U.K. and you can look at the 2004 winners and see some brilliant examples of concise storytelling.
